13 May THE VALUE OF MOTHERS 1
The villages were unoccupied and rulers ceased in Israel until you arose–you, Deborah, arose–a mother in Israel. Judges 5:7 AMPC
Mothers play a very vital role in making our world a better place. Their role cannot be undermined and quantified in terms of impacts and input on humanity.
The first important role of mothers in our world is providing opportunity for lives to be birthed into our world. Can you imagine if there are no women who want to be pregnant and allow themselves to birth other lives? Maybe you and I will not be alive today. Mothers are the foundation for every transformation we see in our world. All the great people in several spheres came from a woman.
Secondly, mothers help to breed the children that have been birthed into our world. Breeding means developing, educating, training and equipping for growth and better performances in life. All the great achievers in our world from the sphere of politics, medicine, education and so on were positively influenced by their mothers. Little wonder Abraham Lincoln said that “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” David C. Gross in dictionary of 1000 Jewish Proverbs wrote that “God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers”. This is simply because of the amazing role mothers play in raising children positively in a world that is full of negative issues. Deborah rose up in Israel at very critical time to deliver a whole nation from oppression and helped towards a dramatic transformation of people’s lives in a very great dimension.
The story of how Dr. Ben Carson became a world renowned surgeon was because of the positive influence of his mother. Ben affirms in one of his books GIFTED HANDS that his mother Sonya Carson encouraged her that if he can read, he can learn anything in life. Hence, that advice made him to become a voracious reader and because of that he became an outstanding student with excellent results in his field. This is one of her quotes that motivated Ben for life. She said that “it doesn’t really matter what color you are. If you’re good, you’ll be recognized. Because people, even if they’re prejudiced, are going to want the best. You just have to make being the best your goal in life”.
“Mothers deserves more than seasonal appreciation because their contributions and worth have eternal transformation on lives and the world in unquantifiable proportion” RSD.
